Volunteer Management Training

April 11, 2018 by Francis

This three day course is aimed at Volunteer Managers / Co-ordinators and organisations and voluntary and community groups which involve volunteers within their organisation.

Tuesdays: 5th, 12th and 19th june, 10am – 3pm

Volunteers will have different reasons and motivations for choosing to volunteer their time. They may opt to volunteer to develop their skills, gain experience or give something back to the community. It is the role of the volunteer organiser to effectively recruit, motivate, manage and develop volunteers to ensure both parties benefit fully from the process.
Our Certa Level 3 Volunteer Management Training programme which is delivered over three days is designed for anyone who has responsibility for attracting, recruiting and sustaining volunteers.
We are pleased to be able to offer this training free of charge to approved groups in Hull. Participants will learn at a place and pace to suit the learner, and will get support from a dedicated online tutor and course materials and additional resources. Written assignments are used to demonstrate understanding.

Successful Ethnic Communities Forum

December 8, 2015 by Francis

The Ethnic Communities Forum met as usual the first Wednesday of the month. On 2nd December 2015 the members of the forum met at the Humber All Nations Alliance to listen the speaker from Messmarc, Hekima Busara, who presented a paper on the work Messmarc does to address the issues of HIV. This was in the context of the international week of awareness on HIV, and members of the diverse communities had questions and comments around this crucial issue. The forum brings together diverse communities to discuss issues that affect their lives. The joint chair of the Forum, Brigitta Laszlo (pictured on the left), commented that the success of the forum is the result of the leadership and enthusiasm of the community groups members of the forum. The next forum meeting is on Wednesday 2nd March 2015 @ 44 Portland Street, HU2 8JX. For further information contact Brigitta Laszlo on 01482 491177.
