Social Prescribing

Funder: North Bank Forum

Duration: 2 Years

Overview:

Our citywide project aims to overcome the barriers faced by all members of the BAME community and the accessibility of the Healthcare system and other local services in Hull in order to promote a holistic, physically and mentally healthy, independent lifestyle.

Work within the project is flexible and designed to meet the individual/ community needs. It may include:

  • Organising activities and events
  • Signposting
  • Help to access local services (eg Housing)
  • Immigration support
  • Emotional peer to peer support.

The project uses the skills of both paid staff and volunteers from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds to maximise the knowledge and support offered. We welcome involvement from members of the local community which helps promote understanding and community cohesion.
