About Us

Humber All Nations Alliance (HANA) is the only specialist umbrella organisation supporting the BAME Voluntary and Community Sector throughout Hull and the Humber region.

The public services, support, and opportunities available locally often don’t reflect the specific needs and interests of BAME community groups and the individuals they support.

They either don’t exist, aren’t accessible, or aren’t tailored to our community.

HANA’s mission is to challenge this. We amplify the collective voice of local BAME
community groups, ensure their interests are represented within public decision-making, and enable them to play a meaningful role in the economic, social, and cultural development of the region. We do this by:

  • Advocating on behalf of BAME community groups and ensuring their needs and
interests are well represented within public decision-making
  • Strengthening the BAME Voluntary and Community sector, by providing groups and individuals with resources and capacity-building support
  • Amplifying the collective voice and impact of BAME community groups, by providing activities and events which encourage collaboration and celebrate culture
